Youth Mission Trip
Our neighbors in the Hill Country continue to rebuild after the devastating floods this past summer. In June, our youth group will travel to Menard, TX, to help. Students in 7th through 12th grade will stay at Camp Menard and serve the surrounding community by completing construction-based projects under the direction of on-site staff.
Parish Picnic
Welcome the summer with us at our annual Parish Picnic! We are piling the table high with BBQ—brisket, sausage, turkey, baked beans, and tater salad. Bring a side dish or a dessert to share if you’d like to contribute. RSVP on your newsfeed in Realm if you’re able…we will have plenty to go around!
Blood Drive
Location: Parish Hall
Every 2 seconds there is a need for blood. To help patients in need of lifesaving blood transfusions, Carter BloodCare must see at least 1,500 donors a day. Carter BloodCare provides life-saving transfusion resources to more than 200 medical facilities in over 50 counties throughout North, Central, and East Texas. Each year, the organization supplies more than 300,000 units of blood products to meet patients’ treatment requirements. Carter BloodCare’s services include collection, processing, specialized laboratory testing, storage, and distribution of blood and blood components. Through this blood drive, Good Shepherd can help maintain and sustain the blood supply for hospitals and patients in need throughout our community.
Please sign up here if you are willing and able to donate.
Northaven Trail Beautification
Northaven Trail Beautification
Join us for a hands-on morning caring for a section of the Northaven Trail. We will meet at Royal Park Meadow Trail. Parking is available across the street from the Club Royal Pool.
We will be planting and watering new meadow plants, pulling invasive weeds, and giving the area a fresh tidy up. All ages are welcome. Enjoy the morning and help care for the trail right in our neighborhood. It is a fantastic way to make a visible difference in just a few hours.
Come prepared: Wear long pants, a hat, and close-toe shoes. Bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water. If you have gardening tools or gloves, please bring them. We will have a few extras to share.
