children's ministry
Raising children in the knowledge and love of God is an incredible privilege and responsibility. It’s a job, not only for parents, but for the whole church, as we work together to form our youngest members as disciples of Jesus Christ, and to learn both with them and from them.
Each Sunday morning, children at Good Shepherd will learn, wonder, sing, and play in a safe environment with volunteers committed to serving our children and helping them grow in faith.

sunday morning
The offerings below run from September through May each year, taking a break over the summer.
Pre-K through 1st Grade
9:15 AM | education wing
Based on Montessori principles, Godly Play invites children to enter into the Biblical story and wonder about the big questions of the faith. Children have an innate sense of the presence of God; the Godly Play approach helps young people explore their faith through story and gain religious language to enhance their spiritual experience of worship and wonder.
2nd through 5th grade
9:15 AM | choir rehearsal room in church
Children in second through fifth grade will explore their faith through music and rotate weekly through other activities like storytelling, crafts, and drama. We will focus on a single Bible story for five or six weeks, and children can participate in worship by singing at our 10:30 AM service at the end of each lesson series.
We will meet each week in the upstairs Choir Rehearsal room behind the front of the sanctuary. Pick up will be in the Education Wing.
Children's Worship
during 10:30 service | 2nd Grade and younger
In addition to our Sunday School classes during the Sunday School hour, we also offer Children’s Worship during our 10:30 service. Children’s Worship helps children in second grade and younger worship God in age-appropriate ways, according to Episcopal tradition, while simultaneously preparing them to worship with the entire gathered community by third grade.
