The goal of Youth Ministry at Good Shepherd is to equip young people for a lifelong journey of growing in the knowledge and love of God. Every youth at Good Shepherd is provided with opportunities to participate in transcendent worship, spiritually formative learning, and transformative service. Our programs involve weekly worship and Bible study, community service and missional outreach, and lots of good food and fun.

All youth in 9th-12th grades are welcome to attend Senior High Sunday School led by Father Michael Mills. In this discussion-based class, high school students will grapple with challenging questions pulled from real-life scenarios and current events. Participants will examine what they believe and why, and will discern together how to put their faith into real life practice.
OUR SAVIOUR SUNDAY
On the third Sunday of each month, Fr. Burdette leads a group of students, young adults, and lay leaders to Church of Our Saviour in Pleasant Grove. We lead their worship service and host our youth group meeting there in the afternoon. On “Our Saviour Sundays,” the group meets at Good Shepherd at 9 a.m., travels to Pleasant Grove together, and returns after lunch by 1:00 p.m.

who we are
The Rev’d Dr. Matthew E. Burdette
Curate & Student Ministry Director
Fr. Matt joined Good Shepherd in July 2017. He is from New Jersey, and is married to his lifelong friend Evie. They have two cats and a lot of fun. What excites Fr. Matt about student ministry is the chance to come alongside young people as they learn and take ownership of their own faith.
