LENTEN Ignatian Adventure

This Lent, join in our Ignatian Adventure. The words of the liturgy on Ash Wednesday invite us to the observance of a “holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God's holy Word.”

Our Lenten adventure will give us the opportunity to pray, read, and reflect on scripture every day. Whether it is 10 minutes or 20 minutes or 30 minutes and whether it is three days or four days or five days out of the week, at the end of Lent we will know God and ourselves better.

  • Beginning on the Thursday after Ash Wednesday, everyone will receive a daily email with a brief scripture, one or two questions to guide you as you read, and a prayer. (You must opt-in below to continue receiving Lenten emails. Otherwise, you will stop receiving emails after three days.)

  • Our small groups will allow time to reflect on our readings from the previous week and will include a prayer exercise led by a trained leader.

  • On Sunday nights, Tom & Marcia Hotchkiss will lead a class (in person and on Zoom) on Prayer Practices. On-campus participants may attend Eucharist at 4 PM. The class will be from 4:30 - 5:30 PM and live-streamed for those who wish to participate via Zoom.

  • And our Sunday Sermon conversations will discuss the essentials of “retreat”.

All may…none must...participate. And you may participate as much or as little as you choose. The powerful part is that individually and together for the season of Lent, we will be walking the same steps as we grow closer to Jesus. Come join the parish as we work towards observing a holy Lent!
