Conventional religion has often focused on God’s will, God’s plan, God’s rules. But the mystical core of the gospel is our personal experience of what has been called “the wanting-to-be of God in our lives.” What does it mean to re-imagine the focus of spiritual practice? Where do we understand the connection between God’s love for us and our desire to love God? How do we experience ‘new life’ and the heart of God rather than just obedience?
Fr. Smith will lead this day-long retreat on the connection between God’s love for us and our desire to love God. This is a great opportunity, not only for learning but for our church to welcome and connect with another part of the Christian community.
