HONDURAS MISSION TRIP- FEBRUARY 18-25

Your world mission team has been hard at work this summer and we have exciting news to announce. We will be traveling to Honduras in February on a Good Shepherd Mission Trip. In the past we have joined other local Episcopal churches; however, we feel we are ready to make the transition of being an independent mission trip. Many more details will follow in the upcoming weeks! No special skills are required to participate - although we are looking for a guitar player! As of now we will be doing a building project and Christian Education for children. Sept 11	Rally Day - Rally Day is Sunday, September 11th! Please come to a wonderful morning of fellowship, fun and information. There will be one service at 10:00AM and lunch and the fair will follow at 11:15AM. Each ministry will have a table; please visit as many as you can! When you visit at least four, you will receive a gift. There will be lots of kids' activities and lunch will be provided by the Vestry. Rally Day is a great way to learn about our ministries and study groups; no pressure to sign up, just have fun!

2nd ANNUAL TAILGATE FOR MISSION - November 20 - Immediately following the 10:30 service please join us in the Parish Hall to Cheer the Dallas Cowboys as they play the Washington Redskins! Just like last year we will be serving all your favorite stadium foods such as bratwursts, hot dogs, popcorn, nachos,... We will be raising funds for our Mission trip to Honduras! More details to follow as we near the event!

Interfaith Housing Coalition - Please join us from 8:45 to approximately noon as we prepare apartments for families in need. No special skills required. We would love to have you join us in this rewarding ministry. Ages 12 and older are welcome. Upcoming 2011 dates: September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10. The Bridge - Please join us at The Bridge at 5:45 or meet in the Midway lot For a 5:05 departure as we will feed approximately 250 homeless adults. This ministry is aimed at ages 12 to112! For Your Information: The Outreach committee has been given the responsibility of distributing $40,000 of funds to local, national, and international ministries. We voted to allocate funds across three areas as displayed in the following graph:

• Local Disbursements include Habitat For Humanity, North Dallas Shared Ministries, Family Health Center, Interfaith Housing Coalition, Meals on Wheels, Shepherd's Center of Dallas
  
  
• National Ministries include Alabama Tornado Relief, Louisiana Flooding, Possum Kingdom Fire Relief
  
  
• International Aid includes GSEC Honduras/ World Mission, Japan Tsunami Relief
